At Auto Auctions of Maine, we are highly committed to the health and safety of our clients, customers and employees. During this difficult time, our car dealers will remain our top priority, and with lots of temporary uncertainty around our industry, we will maintain the same customer service you are used to in both Hermon and Auburn. This is the time for our small community to come together and keep our Maine economy moving. Our auction not only wants to work with you as a valued dealer and keep your cars local, but we need you now the most.  

Effective 03/24/2020 we will be implementing the following strategies to combat the spread of COVID-19.

  • Auctions will be “simulcast-only” and strictly online at both Central Maine Auto Auction and Southern Maine Auto Auction. No in-lane live bidding will be available.
    • Our offices will be closed for title dropoff/pickup and payments.
    • We will be emailing or mailing all invoices, payments, and titles.
    • All “net fees” will be waived until further notice.
    • All other arbitration rules and auction rules will still apply to online sales.
  • Our exterior lot will remain open. Dealers are encouraged to come by to preview and test drive cars they are planning to bid for online. We ask that nobody enters the office under any circumstance, and that you practice safe social distancing while out on the lot previewing units.
  • Our kitchen, facilities, lunch room, and dealer lounge will be closed until further notice.
  • We will still continue to pick up your units when our remaining “essential” staff are available to do so. Otherwise we are happy to coordinate transport on the car hauler for you:
    • Central Maine Auto Auction, Hermon, ME – Send a list of units you would like picked up to Oliver at [email protected] or his cell at (207) 554-6544 to coordinate transport. Please have keys in units as employees picking up cars will NOT enter your facilities.
    • Southern Maine Auto Auction, Auburn, ME – Send a list of units you would like picked up to Andrea at [email protected] or the office (207) 376-4870 to coordinate transport. Please have keys in units as employees picking up cars will NOT enter your facilities.
  • Once all units are picked up, the auction rep at each location (Oliver or Andrea) will send out a list to our contact at each dealership with a request for floor prices. If possible, let us know what you have for titles and any announcements you may have. Call or email to make arrangements for mailing titles. Dealers are welcome to use our mail drop in both locations.

We are here to keep the auction going, keep your units moving, and doing anything we can do to help you. We will continue to monitor the latest information from the State of Maine and the Centers for Disease Control on the COVID-19 virus.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Fees: All simulcast and/or net fees will be waived through 4/08/20. All other fees will remain unchanged.

Sale Schedule: Sales will run at their regularly scheduled dates and times. Our online simulcasts begin on Tuesday at 10 am in Auburn, and Wednesday at 10 am in Hermon.

Registration Assistance: Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can get you signed up to bid online. It takes about 10 minutes and we are also able to walk you through the bidding process. Our entire office is well trained and eager to assist you with any simulcast questions. Contact anyone below to get signed up at SMAA and/or CMAA.

Online Access: Dealers can access the sale through the website at www.cmauctioncenter.com, drop down the “Weekly Run List” menu in the middle of the home page, and click on “CM Online Buying” or “SM Online Buying”. That will bring you directly to our online sale screen. We will also send out your username and password with a direct link to the online buying page the day before the sale.

Operating Hours: Monday-Wednesday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

We will be eliminating our “face-to-face” office hours in both locations, but we are available by phone or email during regular business hours. Our office will have a staff member here M-W 8 am to 3 pm. Please understand that we are taking this day-by-day and if we decide to keep office staff at home that we will always be available remotely. If it is an after hours emergency or you need to pick up a car during regular business hours Thursday or Friday please call or text Emily at 207-735-8782.

Vehicle Preview: Dealers may preview vehicles on site up to and including on sale day, but no visitors will be permitted in the office or in the lanes.
